Social versus Search

A giant topic of the day
When it comes to the world of Internet starting points it generally begins with a search on Google or now the Bing / Yahoo engines, we all know this and then there is the newest arrivals Social Networks not just Facebook and MySpace but micro social networking sites that are focused on topics like fishing, dating, sex and cars and on and on, search for a topic that interests you and you likely will find a site devoted to it.

The war for advertising dollars is heating up
Apple wants money from advertisers now to, as we all do, in fact even Logic has a few sites that have advertising placed on them like our Palm Springs Tram website to mention one.

What is the future for Internet websites like say, forums which Logic operates two of, one focused on the deserts of the world including Palm Springs, California and one focused on what we do Email Marketing.

Are forums really a social network that generally offer focused topics to for persons that share these same interests? We think the forum world is very much alive and well going forward.

Do you operate a business?
If your answer is yes, do you have a link to your social network profile on your website?
If your answer is yes, does providing an exit link from your website to somewhere else, say a place that will have your website visitor wondering away make sense to you?

If said no then realize this known fact:
If your business has something to share or offer a visitor that arrives at your website then why on earth and after with not a single doubt on Logic’s behalf all of those countless hours to working so hard on your (SERP) Search Engine Results Page (how your site gets visitors in the first place) would you want them to leave your site through a cute little and what seemed like a harmless button or more that you had added to your website in the first place. The link to others on those social networks are hardly going to sell anything for you, if you have something to say, say it on your own website and remove those outbound links.

If your business wants to interact with your customers, that is ok, and that is real simple, provide a place where they can do that, allow the customers to interact with the company and with other product or service customers that your business has today.

Society is captivated with youth
It strikes Logic as very amazing when I see that companies that are hiring seem to have the notion that hiring young makes for a hip company and that these younger people are going to solve the future of the companies issues.

What might be good and profitable for a Music Video, TV Show, Movie or a Sports Team is not good for a real business to operate within.

Here is what you need to know about those over 50 and those under 30
Lets start with the under 30 crowd, they are generally educated on paper from a university, one that more then likely offers a better party environment then an educational experience or at least a useful college education.

Young people who are of the age between Logic’s age and the 50 year old worker places me into a place where my opinion on these two groups matters greatly. I work with and profit from both groups.

Enough energy to power a small island
The young truly bring to the table the egger energy and bright ideas that build a strong and long living business through idealism, there is no doubt about it, since what is new to these young workers is old hat to the 50 plus year old crowd this makes some sense. There is a giant issue that makes these young people not so useful unless this principal is applied to any business and I mean any business.

Young spunky adults are great, I said this earlier, but without the knowledge, disciplines and focus of the over 50 workers there is little hope that these young people are going to get your business far.

Both groups share PASSION is a true statement, but that PASSION needs guidance.

Enough knowledge to power Wall Street
Less stress, happy in their job, finacially ok, result less turnover.
The over 50 person in the work place has the keys to stability, the power to drive the youth though not always the patents to understand what the youth are thinking or what their actions mean but none the less the over 50 years of age worker is the guiding light of the business the person that can harness the youth keep them on the course apply the disciplines required to make any business a success and the parent figure to help these younger new workers though issues that are not always related to work.

When it comes to the over 50 crowd this needs to be known
The saying “been there done that” has no better place in society then in each group of youthful energetic workers, it this knowledge can save time and money though this past experiences tried and true knowledgeable group.

Employers, Logic understands some of the issues you face
Here is what I do understand about hiring the over 50 crowd. They are more costly (insurance) on paper to the accounting department but then again no business should be ran through the accounting department, buy the time you know your business is in trouble you are too late to do a thing about it.

Great things come from the over 50 worker
The over 50 generally have already produced their children, they are hopefully at an age of independence depending on the level of helicopter parenting that the worker is still applying, they are reliable, have a proven track record and tend to work through experience with coworkers, do not have the relationship issues of the younger, party a whole lot less placing them on the ball at work not sleeping under their cubicles with a hangover, and my favorite, they would rather be at work then traveling around exploring the planet since they got all of that out of their systems earlier in their lives.

Bad things about the over 50 year old worker
Stuck in their ways, the saying to the youth to prevent is the answer to the questioning from the youth itself? Why do we do this like that or this? The wrong answer from the older worker would be, because that is how it is done or that is how I have always done this or that. Without good understanding, patients and sharing through explaining from the over 50 worker the formula for a successfully ran, well oiled machine, your business can and will crumble.

Working in harmony
While many people might be aware of one of California’s smallest towns named Harmony, California the harmony Logic is sharing today has to do more with a well oiled machine operating then a little Northern California artist town.

The company that manages both age groups working together is the winner
In closing today’s article I just want to share that the company that employs both the youth and the over 50 worker maybe at a ratio of 1 over 50 to a 6 pack of younger, under 30 workers is poses to excel at the product or services development stage to the building and production of that product or service making for a near perfect structure for day to day business operations.

Unemployment, what to do when your 99 weeks runs out

What is becoming of Americans these days?
Unemployment is a sad thing, but it needs to be told that it is avoidable.

99er club members are dropping off the benefits program
We expect a large increase in our own state of California where 200,000 people had their 99 weeks of charity by mid September come to an end, thus the need for additional welfare benefits are going to climb as people try to hold out for that job like they used to have.

Those good old days of jobs are not to return
At least in the same easy days of the 2005 / 2006 years that is 4 or 5 years ago now.

There is an option for anyone that wants to save their dignity
Retraining is the best shot you got, I know you might have been a top home or commercial real estate sales person in your past but did you really sell or did you just get what came in through the door for the real estate office you worked out of?

No tough feelings only tough love to my readers, friends and members, and oh yes I am not just picking on real estate sales persons the tough is I am picking on mostly all commission based pay type sales persons.

Be honest, you are going to have to if you want to get out from under being a government supported person.

California has 33% of the nations welfare recipients, yet the state has only 11% of the countries total population, so says the numbers and one famous potential California politician. I personally am tired of the picky and choosiness of today’s Americans. 

Please trust this statement though no one ever actually has the exact dates and times of events like economic corrections defined that perfect, we did say in March of 2006 that the economy easy credit and assets were out of growth and following that prediction the story unfolded, so believe Logic when I say that the economy is years away from a correction, though you can be clouded by things like the stimulus and unemployment benefits you need to understand that the US economy is the largest business on earth and like any giant business time is required to see things get worse or better.

The benefits, stimulus and bailouts are just delay tactics used to keep the calm in our society but like all free things they end if not now then soon and realize why Logic is bagging on the economy, I mean our business is doing good not great but it is profitable, growing and that is a lot in a tough economy.

The USA has no new creations
Think about this, there are 310,000,000 million people living in America, ok that is not news but what is is that the companies on America have not created a new industry that many Americans can jump onto, be a part of so when you read or hear that the economy has began a correction you need to ask these people the tough question?

What fundamental thing or change has been created in the world that is causing these media article writers to say the economy is going to climb from here?
Answer
Nothing at all, there is not a new industry that is going to reinvent the need for mass employment.

We have the numbers and can share what these numbers mean to us
If you had a tough time in 2010, you are (if you do not make changes in your life) going to have an even tougher 2011 followed by an even rougher then that 2012. Why are we bagging on the coming few years, we are actually bagging well beyond just 2012, it is not because there are people who think the world is going to end on December 21, 2012 which is the shortest day of the calendar year but because there are more people on earth today then there are meaningful things to do for employment, thus the new norm.

Our Prediction on the economy
We predict a return to some level of economic normalness in 2014, if in 2011 or 2012 a new industry is invented or created that is big enough to fuel the requirement of mass employment, we suspect this will accure in America and spread across the globe, but America is no assurance to be the founding place for this event.

America is like no other country
Not ever in all of my logical years have I seen so many Americans so willing to just accept the status quo meaning they live with what they have settling for less living with little and not having any desire through efforts applied to excel, strive, and grow their minds and apply those minds to more intelligent, higher paying, meaningful employment thus a flat lifestyle, with the results being only that lifestyle of one that affords them only the ability to read about the rich and the famous even the worlds daily news instead of being the one making the news or becoming the rich or famous one others are talking, reading and writing about.

Not all is bad looking forward
Your career is over whatever job you had is not coming back if it is not here now. What we strongly recommend is to reeducate yourself and hey do not laugh about this advice.

Let’s say you were in sales and today after all of those 99 weeks of watching popular television programs while being paid are gone, finished and over. The news is that it is time to get a government student or retraining loan (hands on the job skills, vocational schools) say as a welder, a highway construction worker, American infrastructure technician or a machinist and we are not talking about taking a course in managing others either, those are not open jobs today you are going to need some training and in as little as a few months you can be filling the in demand jobs all across America.

I remind each person that America and Americans is great strong people but this country was built o not on the words of leaders with no skills and choreographed speeches, it was built on a determination to grow and to do that growth along with our fellow man through hard work, smart and applied education and tough love and efforts.
