Logic has logical thoughts on social networks and micro-blogs

Logic Talk Opinion
Like there is an ass for every seat one used car salesperson once shared with Logic so too is there an opinion on everything in life opinions are like asses everyone has one.


Logic thought from the heart
We think that the creators of these micro-blogs and social networks are smart, they are really charismatic and devoted to the point that Logic actually has a profile on 1000 of these and other types of get the word out online medias today. What is not good is that the capacity of these creators need the next set of persons to monetize the creation for the longer hall, remember Google from search to search advertiser.

Social Network business model flaw
The basic business model works like this, give it away for free, invite APP creators allow all to have a space in it, make it popular mostly because it is free and then sell advertising space. All online Forums, Social Networks and Micro-Blog sites in a sense have the same end result in mind it is not a business model to sell advertising space only that and the hip social network of the day make this way to volatile to sustain any true test of time.


What is missing?
There is no product nor a service included in these efforts of creators of these social networks, micro-blogs what have you, in fact we see through monitoring the Twitter model through our own profile of followings and followers all 140 characters of typing space is advertising and promotion with few actually being clicked on. Next in our opinion this is all sort of modern day venting space where people vent in over the top frustration about the topic of the day news reports and 1000’s twitter it but it is already old news then back ti pushing their wears through links to their sites to the followers of their Twitter accounts.

Hot today, who are you tomorrow
While we deal with a phase in and out of popularity from MySpace into Facebook and now from Facebook into Twitter change in the technology world is really not changing at all, or clearly at a slowed pace during these times. Think I am incorrect; no look at the blog scene and the blog directories yesterdays all of the rage never mentioned today.

What is Twitter Really?
Instant Messaging of the past.
The account features beyond IM are followers and following and the ability to have it posted on the Internet with new features of capturing followers and pushing user participation. Now who really reads these Twits’s?

The positive side
All three of these free services offer a mass amount of people getting together in some cases, though many just open and account to say in the competitive environment of today hey look I have a Twitter, Facebook or Myspace account do you?

The negative side
Building free members and gaining global traffic is, while a wonderful thing is just not a business model. Logic thought this lesson would have been conveyed in the late 1990’s when site traffic and free email accounts were the way of doing business.


Comparing Social Networks to the Major Search Engines
This is where the largest mistake is clear to Logic, the mind set of the human for a social network or micro-blog (in our opinion) verses the search engine mind set are serving two entirely different ways of thinking at the sites point of entry.


Search Engine advertising works because of the mind set and the keyword searches.
Truly at this very point, you need to read our example of why the social network as a search engine replacement is never going to work for the mass business and consumer market.

Search engines, the top 3 anyways have their own battles brewing over the search quality Logic switched from Yahoo to Bing because of accuracy at least as accurate as they can get for offering all things to all people, mass services are not able to focus.


Meet a real product that is a service
Viper Mailer is an email-marketing service provider, ok fine, now even though it not only saves a business money like so many other business services can claim, it actually goes beyond the savings statement and can make higher level claims, the ultimate in claims, it makes business money, and it does it for the least amount of money out of pocket, then any other type of service offered today.


How many email marketing accounts can you sell on a social network?


Our advice to social networks and micro-blogs will require work
To withstand the test of time (weather the storm) these broken models are going to need products or even a relationship with (for example only) Amazon books might work since a lot of these social network and micro-blog posters and followers read can download through Kiddle book reader or Viper Mailer an email marketing service, these are both on demand, right now, instant gratification products or services, we assume (though I hate to assume) and this would bring into the mix a true product that is for the masses.

One larger flaw is a current event
When your whole business model is focused on advertising space what do you do with the below issue?

The global economy is in a time of great suffering and we actually think, somewhat through having no choice with tightening credit, lack of credit and personal net worth reductions, along with unemployment globally that in America in particularly the greatest nation on earth, we are going into the pay down and saving mode.

This is what the masses are heading into (in our opinion) and though there is always this famous claim, that there are people with money in good and bad markets, these small percentages are not going to float the mass unfocused on a particular group types of ad space operators like social networks and micro-blogs will need to survive.

Culture of the globe has changed
We are looking down the road at a change in the American and perhaps global makeup of how humans consume for the coming 2 too 3 decades, these quote business models will need to create actual products that are services to help others to survive past the hype and stave off the next hot social thing to come along and replace them. Research Google, Yahoo and Bing for actual income from advertising over cost cutting, this is going to get a whole lot worse.

Directory Listings a real must for growing your web site popularity
In order to get started in the third tear, this tear is below the top tear the search engines and the Social Profiles being the second tear, where we are all working to be easily found by offering what a person searching the net is looking for.


Staying Consistent in your description we discussed in Part 5 (keywords that match your business)
In order to obtain the best results in the directory listings, they are going to best serve you if you have the best wording to be consistently found.

The third tear directory sites can be good and helpful, you need to get the listings right to benefit you for the overall major search engine (SERP’s) Search Engine Result Pages.

This SERP thing is how people searching for you and your product or service ultimately find you, all based on what the type into the search bar to find the products and services you offer.

It is a great and profitable practice to become the authority on whatever subject your business is offering, you will find it to build trust with site visitors and it is more important on the Internet then in any other medium to convey confidence because you are not afforded the luxury of having a conversation.


Remember that there is more to e-Marketing then just driving traffic generated by the major search engines to your web site.


There is the best opportunity to drive sells, make friends, build trust and learn what the competition is doing through these forums and you want sells not just traffic to your site; it is going to take work and a lot of it, so work smartly and have fun with your “FOCUSED” “PASSION”.

The best fit for FreedomCookies.com because they are specialized in helping others is not to be just under the keyword “cookies” is perhaps too competitive and too broad a search term for a specialized cookie baking and for a good cause operation.


We would go with the keywords “Charity Cookies” and a slogan or tagline “Cookies for a Cause”
Realize that the search term for “cookies” worldwide per month is 764,500 and that you would be competing with 168,000,000 million pages also under this same search term on the Internet, learn a lesson here from Logic this search term used in our example is a crowded one.


What are keywords?
The best word to describe your business will also be the keyword or keywords for your business the keyword or words work in the same way for search engines when people are looking for what services or product you offer, as they do for the local phone directory. 


Going social with FreedomCookies.com
For some business types, social networking is more adaptable to their business then others for example; if you are a music singer or you are a movie actor then your more out to see results on the social network scene, then say a company that makes computer controller cards is going to have.


Somewhere in the middle of the online rock star and your cookie business (if effort is well applied) you make what you are offering exciting, like an explosion of an oven caught on film for a You Tube video then you are off to a great success.

Setting up any micro site profile
How you enter your information into these online profiles is critical to helping potential customers find you both in the particular social network, forums and in the major search engines, so please pay close attention to how Logic has done this for or product Viper Mailer.

Adding your keywords to your online profiles

These are called “Call-To-Action” moves, you are pointing the site visitor directly to additional information about the blog or wall topic you were just sharing with them. 


How much time should you spend on these profile networks?
Logic likes to look at this in a logical way, remember there are, depending on the product or service you offer forums that you should join, there is the social network scene and the video scene and the picture sharing scene and on and on and on so, it is important to set yourself up with a schedule of which sites you are going to participate with because if you just go after them all and if you maintain these sites you are headed for certain failure.

Remember that first and foremost you are in the business you are in, whatever product or service you offer is where your time needs to be spent. We suggest you set aside some time for this profile networking and other stuff related to it and start out with a small amount of sustainable efforts that over time you can delegate to a trusted team member or expand on the time spent as you feel comfortable.

Where to use caution to not waste your time
Stay clear of Twitter, Jaiku and Plurk these 3 instant message (not new technology just repackaged) type formats (Logic has a profile on each) are time consuming riddled with advertising from all of the persons you wish to follow and unless you want to type these short little instant messages 2 to 300 times a day with a link to your product or service only to receive about 4 visitors from these efforts every 7 days you could spend your time doing things better for your business. None the less if you would like to build a profile in these 3 with a back link to your web site then have at it, no harm done.

Joining forums of your interest
Logic belongs to about 40 forums that are related to web site optimization, web site hosting, domain names, email-marketing and some personal self health forums to boot.


What these forums related to your business are good for is actually quit a bit, you can create a signature in the reply of your forum postings (reminder FreedomCookies.com the link reads Charity Cookies save veterans lives) that is using your keywords for your business with a description and drive traffic and inbound links to your site great for search engine optimization.

Please use forum etiquette when posting on these free forums, always be kind and helpful, and never try to just directly sell your products or services (except in your forum signature of course) that are a big problem and ultimately the downfall of your credibility.

It is the best or a practice to become the authority of what it is you know and do for your living but to do it with a soft and helpful hand.
