There are promoters in the domain name industry that are trying to convince you that the extensions on the end of the domain name in any country code are great investments and Logic is here to assure you that even if you are connected into avenues to sell domain names that if a domain name is not a .com it is not going to be found easily or naturally on the Internet.

We also explained the 4 main ways to monetize a domain name sharing, that two ways are still doing well surviving the test of time and the ohter two are no longer a good way to grow your investment in the domain name industry.

Bad Domain Name investment approaches
Numbers 1 and 3 rarely work anymore they are dead and gone even the so called expert parked page domain name holders are struggling to make any sizable money with parked pages and few with PPC.

Good Domain Name investment approaches
Numbers 2 and 4 will withstand the test of time if you build the sites correctly. So let’s focus on these two types of domain name investments.

Number 2 buying a domain name for your personal business is really the best because that is what the domain names were created for in the first place. 

Look it is ok to own more then one domain name in fact for one of our products alone we bought four .com domain names this week to be used for some micro sites from our main site.

Domain Name Redirects
Sometimes people need a few extra domain names for a redirection to their site. Here is an example when more then one domain name is needed.

Multiple domain name redirects are common and let’s look at Bob’s Brake Service in Palm Springs, California so bob’s domain name might look like this BrakeRepairsPalmSprings.com. Notice that this domain name is not about Bob it is about Brake Repairs in Palm Springs.

This type of domain name is what is known as search engine descriptive, it shares with the major search engines that there is a brake repair service in Palm Springs.

Bob is not going to want this domain on his business card and to use it when in a conversation with a customer so Bob’s published domain name might read and be in print like this BobsBrakes.com easy short a .com of course and more then likely what people would easily type into their computers address bar.

So you can see one name BobsBrakes.com serves one purpose and BrakeRepairPalmSprings.com serves another purpose both equally important to Bob’s business.

When to become a domain name investor?
Now if you have the skills. If you do not have the skills and discipline then start buying domain names right after you do.

Before you buy that first or 5 thousandth domain name
Think like Logic and be logical about what names you are going to buy. Investing in domain Names that you can use is the best way to protect against speculation.

Logic’s list of never does
It is important to never buy these types of domain names for investment
Never buy any domain that is misspelled
Never buy a personal name if avoidable, it will not kill the deal if you are going to use the name for yourself.
Never buy “-“ (the hyphen) between words
Never buy more names then you can afford to renew each year, renewals are on the rise
Never buy trendy domain names they are hot today but unless you act on their usage right away they will soon fade
Never buy more then two word domain names when you do be sure the two words make since when placed together
Lastly and the single most important item never buy anything that is not a .com extension, never.

We hope that our article will make you money, that is why we have written this again and realize if a domain name has an ending like .ru even with a single word domain name, unless you understand the language of the country code, domain name extension you are buying steer clear of it. What a great ride domain names have had. That was in 2005, 2006, 2007, and then 2008 hit now 2009 and the name game really took a back seat to the economy.
