The original nickname for Cypress was “Waterville??? because there was so much ground water and local wells pumped water with great ease and at low depths.

The city of Cypress almost got the city name of Dairy City because local dairy farmers from now Cypress and neighboring cities of now Cerritos was to become Dairy Valley and La Palma was to become Dairyland as a way to push developers out of these three cities and let them remain as dairy farm lands.

The city is really a bedroom community but it is really very centralized in that the city is connected through the vast freeway system with the 22 Freeway, the 605 Freeway and the 91 Freeway.

The area once named “Valley of Hearts Delight??? today it is a part of the “Silicon Valley??? in fact this city is in the heart of the Silicon Valley, the hub, with no more proof required then being the home to one of technologies most famous players and devises a lot of people enjoy Apple Computer.

The area is historically better known as the rock quarry responsible for supplying the aggregate for the construction of Shasta Dam built between 1938 and 1945 that measures 602 feet in height and 3460 feet across that was built to hold back the waters for a new lake that the dam created Lake Shasta.

Before you venture into the things to do you need to know that the way Cupertino was developed did not leave room for a downtown where visitors and locals can congregate but we found that the local De Anza College has a lot of very unique offerings for the whole family to enjoy.

There are over 150 acres of park lands to enjoy. Cupertino even has a web site devoted to sharing their vast amount of relaxing local parks here at Cupertino Parks. 

A perfect style show is in store for the whole family at the Planetarium at De Anza College where you will be treated to a star light show and great themed music as well there are astronomers to share and answer questions you might have about our star system or the galaxy. This one is cool though Cupertino is not the only city we write to offer an interactive museum it is still nice to see another one please see the Euphrat Museum of Art they have fun and it is a museum as well at Cupertino Museum. 

Shopping, dining and entertainment
Without a downtown none the less there are over 120 places to eat and drink from snacks to fine dining and they do have the Cupertino Square a Shopping Center so to see more at the Cupertino Square a mall in Cupertino has a great list of shopping activities.

We at Viper Logic’s, Viper Names steered clear of the .info, .cc and the .biz domain name extensions but got caught up in the hyped .Mobi because the bigger operators like Microsoft and Google claimed these were going to be the mobile devise future.

.Mobi lacked technology
Before the advent of the .Mobi domain name extension technology had already solved the need for a mobile devise extension with the creation of (WAP) Wireless Application Protocol that when a visitor to your site came to your top level domain name ending or extension being a .com their devise would be recognized and automatically convert the content to cater to this smaller and slower download screen.

We went to the most promoted .Mobi user we personally are aware of, FOX and FOXNEWS they both have the .Mobi working as a redirect to the FOX.com and the FOXNews.com sites where they are utilizing the WAP technology preventing the need to manage 2 separate sites.

So what the end user is getting or receiving is the same .com content scaled down through the WAP conversion software making the .Mobi domain name ending just another domain name.

Today an historic landmark hotel once owned by actor John Wayne called the Culver Hotel a pie shaped hotel is still very open and still places casts for motion pictures.
