Star Trek Coin Mintage
Paramount Studios partnered with the Anaheim, California based company, the same coin designer and manufacture operated as the maker of .999 fine Gold and Silver coins for the Walt Disney Company from 1987 through the early 1990’s and ended business 1995. The business Rarities Mint is closed today.

COA Certificate of Authenticity
Rarities Mint installed each coin into a plastic holder placed that inside of the jewelry box for display and each came with a COA that shared the production number stamped out of the dies and these laminated certification sheets included the numbers coin 1 of 5000 as an example with the actual coins serial number printed in read say 204 that would in theory be coin 204 from 5000.

Mintage projections versus actual production
Great news if you own any of the Rarities Mint coins for the Walt Disney Company, Paramount Studios, or Lucas Films. LTD, Universal Studios Amblin, or United Feature Syndicate
Actual production number for many Rarities Mint coins were far lower then the numbers that the certifications claimed, our thoughts are that the certs (COA’s) were produced in advance of the actual production based on pre orders and the likes.

Paramount Studios licensed and Rarities Mint produced coins to was released to commemorate the hit, and very cult like following television and movies shows and series Star Trek.
The Rarities Mint produced a series of 7 coins released in May 1989.
Each coin (released in the below order) was offered in two different metal types .999 gold and .999 silver. The gold coins are the rarest produced and they were offered in two sizes while the silver coin came only in a single size.

The person that created the dies for this series was Karen Worth
Karen Worth spent over 6 months on sculpting the Enterprises crews likeness.
