3 Ways to sell a domain name
Over the next week we will breakdown the three best ways to sell domain names but we need to warn you a little, these methods are not for selling junk domain names but rather it is for selling names that best match our how to buy domain names site guidelines How to Buy Domain Names Guide which is a simple 11 steps to buy domain names with advice like never buy or rarely never buy any extension other then a (TLD) Top Level Domain.

Selling a Domain Name Part One A
Our first way is also our easiest way to unload a domain name and perhaps though not bringing you the highest amount of (ROI) Return on Investment you can still try to sell a domain name, none the less this way and easier then the coming two selling ways.

There are companies that act as agents making sure your name goes to the buyer and the buyer pays you like an escrow a form of protection, protecting both he buyer and the seller. They vary from auction house to auction house but you can get a complete list of them by doing a keyword search on your favorite search engine using these keywords “domain name auction” there are thousands of these services to place your names and pay a small fee for the listing service and escrow service.

There are two other ways in Part One that you can try to offer your domain names out on the market for sell but these are mostly a waste of time in our opinion because the audience for these two ways is to end user and we truly would like you to get the most for your names usually from a business.

Selling a Domain Name Part One B
You can go to e-bay and list it under domain names and again will be paying a small fee and hey who knows you might get a buyer with a price that matches your minimum offer. Helpful domain name values at the end of this article.

Selling a Domain Name Part One C
In today’s final way to sell your domain names the fastest, as we as we said earlier we do not like this way but it works sometimes, is to join webmaster forums and to find a list of about a couple a hundred of them you can again return to your favorite search engine and do a keyword search for “webmaster forums” also under “domain name forums” to find these forums.

Joining these forums is free, it is easy to sign up and both types of forums will have a domain name section for you to list your names. A word of caution is to be sure you select an escrow company on your own to handle the transfer and money collection because the fraud level on webmaster forums is very high.

How much money should you ask for your domain names
Values of a domain name is not a science it is also not an emotion so look at what you paid for your name usually under 10.00 dollars, so be realistic because you might have paid for it 5 years ago and you are going to want that amount around 50.00 dollars, next after listing fees from an auction house they handle escrow, escrow fees if on your own and some level of return on your money and time are also nice to get in the deal.

Determining a domain names value
The value of a domain name is going to have a lot to do with what your domain name is anywhere from a two letter or number .com to a single word domain will get you hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars but more then likely your name is a two words or two keyword domain name that if it is desired then can get you thousands to hundreds of thousands so you can see your name needs to be researched and the best place to start is at our Domain Name Assistance site above.

Looking into reality about selling a name you can see if for example that Logic the Global domain name guy has a portfolio of thousands of names so you can look at some of what we have there they run from 10.00 dollars to thousands of dollars Viper Names Portfolio.

In Closing
We hope this option gets you thinking about your domain name values and we will be back with Ways to Sell a Domain Name Part 2 in a few days followed a few days later with Part 3, so check back in with us because these next two ways have ways to apply a little more effort and sell your names for more money then the easy way. Remember that with anything in life time is money so if you put a lot of transferable time into a name then that time invested becomes money for you as well.
