The Marketing Industries 4 P’s to successful product development and launches

The 4 P’s to Marketing any Product or Service
Recently Logic learned that though we all know how to market whatever product we all produce, carry, resale, or any services we might offer. There is a short list to apply to your offerings that we kind of think of as looking into the mirror and ask yourself? Hey self.

Selling products online?
Selling products in a store?
The 4 P’s apply to any way, style, or method you choose to offer your products and services.

This is the type of self testing a company of any size has to be truthful about asking itself prior to beginning any product or service.

Marketing departments should ask themselves the 4 P’s to be a success
The four P’s:
Product is it needed and in demand? or is it a better product that the world needs?
Price how is your pricing? is your pricing equal higher or lower then your competition?
Place where are people going to find your product? is your product going to need a distributor?
Promotion is your product a new breakthrough requiring educating the world? Is your product the best there is and you need to tell the world? is the product already on the market but yours offers more then just a lower price?

Where are the 4 P’s taught
What we are getting into is an organized process established by the Marketing Industry, taught in all business and marketing colleges today.

4 P’s Defined
Now lets step away from the mirror and take a look at each of these 4 P’s in greater detail.
Product Defined
Is your idea using your name or is it a brand name?
Does your idea have a particular functionality?
Does your idea have a unique style?
Is there quality in in your idea?
Have you thought about the safety needed in your idea?
Do you understand the packaging of your idea?
Is there repairs and support in place for your idea?
Does your idea come with a warranty?
Is there additional accessories and service’s for your idea?

Price Defined
Does your idea have a pricing structure for affiliates, distributor, and retailers?
Have you came up with a suggested retail price?
Do you have a payment plan, net terms, COD, volume pricing?
Is the idea in need of a seasonal and off seasonal prices?
Can your idea be bundled with other products or services? If yes is there a price for this?

Pricing and selling on price alone
This is and area where we wanted to share our strategy about selecting the best clients you can, and customers clients or potential clients that buy on price we have discovered is a bad thing. Unless you are a bulk seller (Walmart) of something similar to these types of commodity buyers.
Viper Logic has had a set policy for deciding who will be our clients and there is a not much talked about trait that goes with the buy on price type of customers. Here is what we have learned.
If you-are not a commodity seller you need to sale on service, quality, support, value, value added, and customer loyalty programs. When you sell to a client on price you are going to get something else with that decision and it is these types of buy on price people tend to ware you and your resources out. You not only honored the clients wish to provide a goods or service for their price point but they are going to be calling and emailing you all of the time.

When someone comes along at Viper Logic that is this type of client that is identified after several incidents of repetitive requests then we have a title for this type of client. We Fire the Client and we are not trying to share with you that we do not care or that we do not need the business because that is nonsense.

There is however a cost of doing business, and if the cost of a client is costing you to much time or money (time is money) then to continue to provide the best product service and support you need to shay clear of or Fire the Client in the best interest of all of your client base. Trust us after 15 years of being good to all of our selected clients we know as well that these same low price constant requester of your time are also going to share with their friends and co-workers about how bad you, your product, and your support services are.

Place Defined
Place is for distribution of your idea.
Have you thought about the distribution of your idea?
Selective or exclusive distribution?
Inventory management for your idea?
Does your idea need distribution center and or warehousing?
Is your idea using order processing?
How is your idea going to be transported?

Promotion
Logic will share with you on the promotional side. This is where Viper Logic suffers the most in all of the 4 P’s points and definitions. We at Viper Logic truly do build some really technically advantaged software products and project and by far the promotion is a whole animal within it self. We are always being advised on the point. You can have the best most advanced engineered (in our case) product or the best service and support in your business niche, but if no one knows about you then it will remain the best keep secret to your potential clients or customers.

This promotion topic is more then just spending a lot of money on advertising, Pay Per Clicks (PPC) campaigns, today it is more about creating a viral epidemic and to do this in this day and age you really need to be proactive kind of like a young persons natural energy but on steroids.
