Eating Out Why do we Tip?

Where is my tip
Ok here is a dig directed at the United States third largest employer (per the National Restaurant Association figures published in the Wall Street Journal) by industry the National Restaurant Association accounts for 13.1 million employees and it’s way of doing business utilizing our tip money to subsidize the low pay usually minimum wage a restaurant server makes from their wealthy employers.

One larger gripe expressed in this article is how the hours that restaurant employers work their employees to prevent providing paid health care to their employees as well shows a true sign of greed overrunning common sense.

Our Tips Pays Wages of Rich Restaurant Industry Employers
Before you and I tip our servers did you know that in most cases they would not make enough money to survive any kind of meaningful lifestyle? It is more of an American custom that primarily exists in most part because of easy credit meaning we American’s have access to and use our credit cards more then any developed country on the planet.

Credit Squeeze Kills Tips
With credit on the squeeze in America and now in most industrialized nations as well, the servers are feeling the pinch because fewer people are dining out and the people still dining out are not spending as much creating a lower total on the tab and they are not feeling as artificially wealthy as they were before the cost of everything started to rise (gas, food healthcare, and soon sales tax) and their homes began to go down in value and even be repossessed from the (REO) Real Estate Owned you know the bank police for real estate.

No brain-er jobs that pay well
What is amazing is that the restaurant, fast-food, coffee and doughnut to mention a few jobs are the biggest no brain-er jobs in the top three employers by industry because the number one employer is the United States Government followed by the second biggest Heath Care Industry and these two carriers are ones that require a person to think, have skills and be driven to take responsibility in their carriers.

Questions to ask ourselves
Why do we tip a coffee house or doughnut house but not the cook at a fast-food restaurant?
Did you know that Europeans do not tip?
Did you know that some of the lightest tippers are Asians and Canadians? (Industry sources tale Logic)

Logic’s final thoughts
We should ask ourselves do servers know that those tips should be spent on buying healthcare insurance because most employees do not receive fully paid healthcare insurance like most professional jobs. It makes sense because most professionals like Logic have fully paid insurance and retirement funds.

This article is directed but not to two groups one is the actively retired and the students going through gaining a higher education.
