The cities name came from the shape of its sandy beach shaped like a crescent. The city is home to the Crescent city Harbor along the Pacific Ocean coastline of California.
Crescent City is located right along Highway 101 that is named Redwood Highway in this very northern part of California and 101 comes right into Crescent city before heading more inland away from the Pacific ocean shoreline.
The city is home to something far more positive and uplifting it is the headquarters of the Redwood National Park.

This city though small and one of California’s farthest northern coastal cities is the site of the first sunken US ship during World War II the SS Emidio.

Logic your tour guide loves the lighthouses along the California Coastline and the great locations some of these are located at some of the finest real estate along our coastline. The Battery Point Lighthouse is no exception located at the Crescent City Harbor entrance in Crescent Bay this wonderful cylindrical structure was completed in 1856 and though the Untied States Coast Guard stopped utilizing lighthouse technology in the 1980’s these are great places to visit for learning exploring and the views as we mentioned are some of our states finest. Nature has a great gift in fact nature has 131,983 acres of tall Coastal Redwood Trees nearly 50%of all remaining redwood trees are within two counties Del Norte and Humboldt. What is very important these are the largest and tallest trees remaining on the planet and truly worth the visit and the time spent while near Crescent City. Tide pools camping and collecting large amounts of driftwood for your camp fire make this city and the surrounding areas great for bird watching, exploring and getting in touch with nature. Drive out towards the shoreline from Crescent city to a scenic drive of south and north Pebble Beach Drive a great way to wonder along the cliffs and shoreline north from crescent city.
