This small California city is home to the two women’s prisons the Central California Women’s Facility and the Valley State Prison for Women. The city the setting for one of the largest American School Bus students 26 and 1 driver kidnappings in 1976 that many bokks and movies were written about all of these people survived their ordeal.

Located along the State Route 99 what we have come to call the Central Valley Agricultural Highway of California this is a heavy farming area.
The city is not without it’s own airport the Chowchilla Airport.

This is a farming city so they offer a lot of annual events at the Chowchilla-Madera County Fair Grounds a 75 acre event center that offers depending on the time of year you are visiting Livestock, carnivals and festivals for the whole family to enjoy so to see what is coming while you are there or coming through there visit the County Fair.

The city has parks and 1 skate park named Area 15 a 10,000 square foot skate park with night lighting and you can view the skate park Area 15 Skate Park.
