This city is California’s king ans Queen of romance and that is putting lightly as the entire area over a mer square mile (very small for a city) located atop a gradual bluff of giant full well grown tree lined sidewalks each building be it a restaurants, bars, hotel, spas, shop, gallery or inn each is a cottage warm feeling with a lot of fire places a truly everything wooden and warm and this is all located overlooking the Pacific Ocean on the Monterey Bay. 

The Carmel Mission located in Carmel and built in June 1770 is the San Carlos Borromeo de Carmelo Mission and worthy of a visit and insightful tour of this great facility Carmel Mission.

Sticking to our romantic theme for this visit and because the city is located just off of Highway 1 and south of Pebble Beach we recommend you pay to have the privilege to drive inside and along the famous 17 Mile Drive that runs along the coastline and ends up in Pacific Grove but you should explore on your own because this is romance.

We are also going to venture out to the Monterey Bay’s Cannery Row and the where you can eat and shop but to be romantic we are going to spend part of our day at the Monterey Bay Aquarium Monterey Aquarium.

Carmel offers and recommends 4 beach locations to wonder on to enjoy tide pools the surf and the white sandy beaches of Carmel Beach (Del Mar Beach) south about 2.0 miles is Point Lobos State Reserve and about 2.5 miles of Carmel is Monastery Beach then there is the Carmel River Beach. The city reminds us all to remember that we should express extreme caution because the Northern California surf can be unpredictable.
