The city has little more then 7,000 residents living in 15.6 square miles of area.
The city was incorporated in December 1990.
The city is located in Southern California.

Located within the San Gorgonio Pass and near the Yucaipa Valley in northern Riverside County right on the county line of San Bernardino this city is the Wildlife Corridor a city commitment to maintaining a preserve for the natural habitat of the area this city actually has two th importance is this allows the animal life to travel through Calimesa and into the San Bernardino Mountains.

Because of the Wildlife Preserve Corridors you might be afforded an opportunity to hike a little into either of the corridors and explore nature and natual environments and learn new things.

Things to do in and around Calimesa, California.
With the California Desert named the Sonoran Desert to the east where Palm Springs, California and the Coachella Valley are located and to the north up Highway 38 in the San Bernardino Mountains where Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear Lake are both located you can go east and heat up or go up the mountain to cool down both destination locations are great places to spend a day each and you can stay right in Calimesa to achieve these great adventures. 

The main reason you are going to head out with ease and venture into nearby areas outside of Calimesa is because this city is located right off of the Interstate 10 Freeway and 60 Freeway both will take you to exsighting locations in California.
