Work for those over 50

Has the unemployment bug captured your spirit?
Fear not my over 50 years of age friends
There are some facts that might be important enough for you to know and Logic too shares.

Society is captivated with youth
It strikes Logic as very amazing when I see that companies that are hiring seem to have the notion that hiring young makes for a hip company and that these younger people are going to solve the future of the companies issues.

What might be good and profitable for a Music Video, TV Show, Movie or a Sports Team is not good for a real business to operate within.

Here is what you need to know about those over 50 and those under 30
Lets start with the under 30 crowd, they are generally educated on paper from a university, one that more then likely offers a better party environment then an educational experience or at least a useful college education.

Young people who are of the age between Logic’s age and the 50 year old worker places me into a place where my opinion on these two groups matters greatly. I work with and profit from both groups.

Enough energy to power a small island
The young truly bring to the table the egger energy and bright ideas that build a strong and long living business through idealism, there is no doubt about it, since what is new to these young workers is old hat to the 50 plus year old crowd this makes some sense. There is a giant issue that makes these young people not so useful unless this principal is applied to any business and I mean any business.

Young spunky adults are great, I said this earlier, but without the knowledge, disciplines and focus of the over 50 workers there is little hope that these young people are going to get your business far.


Both groups share PASSION is a true statement, but that PASSION needs guidance.

Enough knowledge to power Wall Street
Less stress, happy in their job, finacially ok, result less turnover.
The over 50 person in the work place has the keys to stability, the power to drive the youth though not always the patents to understand what the youth are thinking or what their actions mean but none the less the over 50 years of age worker is the guiding light of the business the person that can harness the youth keep them on the course apply the disciplines required to make any business a success and the parent figure to help these younger new workers though issues that are not always related to work.


When it comes to the over 50 crowd this needs to be known
The saying “been there done that” has no better place in society then in each group of youthful energetic workers, it this knowledge can save time and money though this past experiences tried and true knowledgeable group.


Employers, Logic understands some of the issues you face
Here is what I do understand about hiring the over 50 crowd. They are more costly (insurance) on paper to the accounting department but then again no business should be ran through the accounting department, buy the time you know your business is in trouble you are too late to do a thing about it.


Great things come from the over 50 worker
The over 50 generally have already produced their children, they are hopefully at an age of independence depending on the level of helicopter parenting that the worker is still applying, they are reliable, have a proven track record and tend to work through experience with coworkers, do not have the relationship issues of the younger, party a whole lot less placing them on the ball at work not sleeping under their cubicles with a hangover, and my favorite, they would rather be at work then traveling around exploring the planet since they got all of that out of their systems earlier in their lives.


Bad things about the over 50 year old worker
Stuck in their ways, the saying to the youth to prevent is the answer to the questioning from the youth itself? Why do we do this like that or this? The wrong answer from the older worker would be, because that is how it is done or that is how I have always done this or that. Without good understanding, patients and sharing through explaining from the over 50 worker the formula for a successfully ran, well oiled machine, your business can and will crumble.

Working in harmony
While many people might be aware of one of California’s smallest towns named Harmony, California the harmony Logic is sharing today has to do more with a well oiled machine operating then a little Northern California artist town.


The company that manages both age groups working together is the winner
In closing today’s article I just want to share that the company that employs both the youth and the over 50 worker maybe at a ratio of 1 over 50 to a 6 pack of younger, under 30 workers is poses to excel at the product or services development stage to the building and production of that product or service making for a near perfect structure for day to day business operations.
