Marketing No No’s, What you should not say

image

Have you ever told a client anything?
If you have we are off to a bad start. It is better to share and here is why.
We all grew up as children being told what to do, when to do it, and even when to do it.
Heck we might as well go out on a limb here and say some of us are still being treated this way as adults.

Example of replacing Tell with Share
It is in all of our best interests and actually Logic is applying this daily. Try not to tell anyone anything, but rather use the word share.
Hello Mary, I would like to share this opportunity with you. This sounds more inviting and friendly. It is working for us everyday, though Logic does slip up once in the while. It takes practice to allow your mind to get used to changes, but over time it becomes easier and automatic.

Advise for all who interact
Lately we have seen a lot of old bad words you and us should refrain from using when discussing our products or service. This article is great for anyone that interacts with anyone else.

Here is what Logic is trying to share
Lets say that Mary is a potential client of yours and Mary likes you and your offerings. Though she has not bought from you yet. By applying these differences no matter if you do this in your writings to or talking to Mary, you will greatly increase your chance of closing the sale and becoming a little closer to Mary.
This is going to work for sending an email message, as well as being on the phone or talking to a potential client eye to eye.

Replacing one word or phrase with another
The time has come upon us all to alter some of those catchy words or phrases that prospects are unable to hear anymore. They are either expected of a company or they are ignored all together by our prospects.
Wore-out Phrases
Some words turned into phrases that are over used are:
State-of-the-Art
Leading Edge used a lot in Technology, Investments, and Medical.
Cutting Edge
Best
Number One
Quality First
Solutions Provider
Turnkey Solution
We will meet or exceed your Needs
Amazing Results
We Care
Lowest Prices
We Can’t be Beat

When we are writing our messages for Email Marketing or in our talking to others even when we produce a printed piece or add content to our web site pages these words and phrases above need us all to find another way to write or say the same statement.

In the Email Marketing world the first words you convey to your potential customers are in the email subject line. You know that line that comes into all of our email in boxes everyday.
Example of a bad Subject Line:
Quality Steaknifes are State of the Art Lowest Price Solutions that are the Best

Example of a good Subject Line:
Viper provide reasonably prices, advanced Steaknifes that will cut like no other
