What is the subject line in and email message
The subject line is in all of our email in boxes. It is that area next to the from line.

It is the single most important item that a recipient reads to determine whether they are going to open your email or not.
In future Email Marketing Educational Tips we will be discussing what time of the day to send your messages via your email marketing campiagn service provider for the best ROI (return on investment).

Recap about collecting email addresses
Lets get your messages opened. You have important information that your opt-in list of recipients signed up to receive from you from time to time.
To date you have been collecting email addresses from your clients or people to came into contact with for the last couple of weeks or even years and these are assets to your overall business value.

How to get your email message opened
When you write your subject line it is your keys to success and should explain right away what you are offering.
There are a few parameters you need to comply with when writing your all important subject line.

1 You need to stay within the text length that appears in the average recipients email box. You only have a range of 30 to a max of 50 characters of space to build your message within so treat these like gold.
2 There are words you should not use because of the SPAM detection most recipients have for reducing the emails they receive each day. It is easy to stay away from these SPAM detection words buy just thinking about what we all are aware of such as Blue Pills, Free, Discount, Offers, Act Now and etc.
You get the idea about what types of words not to use.

Now even though you have the amount of characters and the words not to use there is still the use of the key words in your message that best accomplish a couple of things.
You will need to try a couple of sample runs with your recipients and when you use and email marketing service provider like ViperMailer is here Email Marketing Account Set Up you can separate your list of email accounts into two groups.
Then you can take the same colorful graphic template that you create at the email marketing services provider and send it to each group with a different subject line to see which of the 2 campaigns get opened.

Tracking Campaign Note
The email marketing services provider ViperMailer.com allows you to track the open rate percentages and if your campiagn message has a link to your web site built into it, then you can see through your web site statistics how many visitors came to your web site from your email message as well.

Subject Line Building Example
Lets go over and example for a candy and gifts company.
Since the recipient is someone you have had contact with casually be sure to include in your subject line what the recipient knows you best by.
Example: You are Carlas’a Chocolate Gifts and your recipient knows Carla’s because they like her chocolate so you would be best known as Carla’s.
However lets look at another scenario.
Example:
You are Mark Bloomer with a financial investment institution and your client while they know of the financial institutions name they have a closely tied relationship with Mark Bloomer. So in this case you want to be sure to have your personal name in the subject line because your recipients know and trust you as Mark Bloomer.

Now we are going to build two different subject lines using Carla’s Chocolate Gifts as our examples.
Example One Carla’s has a Sweet Message for you
Example Two Carla’s Chocolate Holiday Gift Reminder

Both of these examples show us that they are identifying Carla’s as a trusted email because we know about Carla’s Chocolate and both are likely to be opened because of this.
However if you split your campiagn into two sendings you can track the two of them to see which one worked best to getting your messages opened the best.

Message Sending Frequency Reminder
Because we in most cases recommend that you limit your message sending to one per month (do not want to irritate our recipients) you can learn in your first month which subject line gets you the best response and use that one again. Next month you will want to use a little rewording and split your campiagn yet again into two sendings.
Send next months new message using the last month subject line that got you those better results to the other half of your list that got your less popular subject line.
For the half of the list that received your best response subject line tweak that subject line a little bit or send to them a new subject line and see how this one works for you.
Whatever you do do not send the same subject line again to the same recipients because you are going to look boring and the opened message results are not going to do you very good at all.
