Explore the vast deserts of Imperial County
The Algodones Dunes (mounds of natural wind formed loose sands) are a large site to visit, since it is the largest sand dunes field in America. Glamis is a major off-road party and camping location and part of this area of sand dunes that is mainly for the off-road recreation and where large amounts of people arrive each year. There are only two permanent supply locations or stores in this area.
The Salton Sea
A man made large bed of water it is salt water and the details of the Salton Sea are located here at the Desert Forum where you will learn that the sea is 35 miles long by 15 miles wide and has a depth of 51 feet making this a site to see in the middle of the California Deserts.

Growers of Tomatoes Event

One more foody event is the annual Carrot Festival held in neighboring Holtville at the Holt Park features a week long carrot cooking contest even an antique tractor show, dinning evening event and carnival so for more details please contact the Holtville Chamber of Commerce.

Located in El Centro this military airport is a site to see more around night time during training as the runways utilize the lighting to simulate the flight deck of an aircraft carrier.
Blue Angels Winter Home
The El Centro Navel Air Facility is the winter home to the famous Blue Angels the Navy’s Demonstration Squadron. There is an annual air show presenting the Blue Angels each March.
