Some Interesting Facts about Corcoran, California.
Though Corcoran has a population of over 26,000, half of the residents are located there without a choice, a few are famous, as they are incarcerated in the California State Prison Corcoran. The most famous of these prisoners is Charles Manson.


Technically there are really only 13,000 residents making this a really small city in California. The Corcoran Correctional Facility is the largest prison in the State of California. Please see the CDCR site.

The city is located in the San Joaquin Valley the heartland of California’s agricultural region and as Logic writes we look for cities located along the State Route 99, what we call the Agricultural Highway of California and Corcoran is only a few miles off of this famous State Route inland from the Pacific Ocean and just over the line between Southern and Northern California.

Corcoran is a little state prison town in a growing of produce area in California so while we did not research and find a lot to do you are sure to enjoy a stop in this city to explore and discover on your own a place you would stop at while on your way to somewhere else does not make Corcoran a bad place to find unique spots on your own.
