Located in Region 9.
The County is Constra Costa.
The city has over 11,000 residents living in 3.9 square miles of area.
The city was incorporated in March 1964.
The city is located in Northern California.

Located inland from San Francisco this city sits very near the center of the County of Contra Costa. The Diablo Mountain sits in the background like a guard over the city as the tallest mountain in the area it is visible from San Francisco.

Clayton is a great small city a safe small city to stay in or nearby and other then hiking and eating out in Clayton meeting the locals you are more then likely going to need to explore on your own and find things in Clayton you will enjoy as well if you enjoy hiking there are 17 miles of trails named the Clayton Trail System to enjoy as well this small city has 400 acres devoted to openness for you to just stop and take in the calm that Clayton offers.

There are a few historic buildings in downtown Clayton in fact one is the City Hall that is today located in the Historic DeMartini Winery building and you might enjoy the downtown preserved history.
