This is truly and exciting city of California because it is located on the Santa Catalina Island also known as Catalina Island and this island that is visible from California’s largest population county and city of Los Angeles.
The island is 21 miles from the California Coastline it is a member of the channel islands and is the highest population island in California. The city of Avalon faces Los Angeles sitting at only 30 feet above sea-level even though the the island is tall but this is fine because the city has a bay Avalon Bay and is facing away from the surf side of the Pacific Ocean. There are no cars permitted on Catalina Island although the island offers electric cars.
The Santa Catalina Island was originally owned by the famous and globally known chewing gum family we all know as the Wrigley family bought the island in 1919 all 22 miles long and sits hundreds of feet in height above sea-level and was donated it to the Catalina Island Conservancy in 1975.
