Ok because there is a bay this is a sailboat or kayak, however there are streets of historic homes lined with shady trees to enjoy a stroll down some of these streets and view a lot of history. They have the Alameda Theatre as one of the more then 10,000 building or structures built in this city prior to 1930.
Some interesting facts about Alameda, California.
This city is and island city on the San Francisco Bay, so there is water and the pacific ocean feeds this well known bay. Well known because of the long history as a government island. In 1982 this island became home to the United States Coast Guard and the name today is Coast Guard Island, 67 acres and is a man made island built in 1913 in Alameda Bay. This is the United States Coast Guards Pacific Command Center Base 11.
