Coachella Valley to Silicon Valley California
Our article title should read earth (Coachella Valley) teaching reality (Silicon Valley)
Logic is an avid reader of technology news from around the world, we see and read a lot on the subject or both the hardware and the software created and produced.
Silicon Valley News Blogs
Logic really finds the tech industry news reporters from the best known ones to the lesser known ones all have a common trait.
Literally all of the tech news sites reported news Saturday 12/12/2009 Sunday 12/13/2009 and Monday 12/14/2009 AM each covered Google this (another me too phone) and Google that (re-chrome the bumper of my 1963 Cadillac) showing us all that during those 3 days all of the focus was on the creative innovation of nothing new, just new players arriving into an already crowded market place for phones, operating systems and browsers.
Continued advertising space diluting is surely continued.
Logic likes Google, just utilizing their news to make a point
This useless information is pointing out an important fact written in our article as discussed below, about how the relationship to Hollywood movie releases and the hype works exactly the same within the technology industry.
Let Logic explain, when the a new movie is made, the plot is actually just a remake of the same old thing, with the same end result. This way of hyped information clearly applies towards new innovation, that is merely a twist to and already created product or services we all have access to already.
Where in California are these two valleys located?
While both valley’s are located in California, with the Coachella Valley being located in Riverside County in the deserts of Southern California south of Los Angeles and the Silicon Valley is located in Santa Clara County of Northern California just inland and south of San Francisco there is more then just climate that makes up the differences between these two valleys.
Logic and best friend Catnip love both valleys, we do
We live in the Coachella Valley.
We love many of the companies also in our sister California valley.
About our technology insight article
We are a very happy company, we mostly love Mircosoft because they have single handedly made our living possible for more then 16 years now. While Microsoft is not based in the Silicon Valley they do have a large presence there.
We are not complaining about any company or income opportunity in our article, we are merely pointing out some lacking fundamentals we see from looking into the Silicon Valley and technology in general from the outside.
We have uncovered several technology patterns important enough to share
The buzz out of Silicon Valley is enormous, always seems to have been but the topic used to me more about innovation, this time it is more of a claim of innovation.
Overview related to our article
Below list of products and services really innovation or are they a need to be doing something?
New smart phones (me too)
Applications for smart phones (plenty already really not a business model)
Touch Pads (remember single function devices)
More fruit coming from the tree (might it already have run its course, computer, music and phone now a touch pad coming)
Games or ice just play nice (advertising driven)
Social, Video and Micro-Blog (advertising driven)
Search (advertising driven)
Do not forget the Go Green thing (electric and solar, humm new no, reinvented yes)
Readers the above list of items are not really innovations that are going to drive the Silicon Valley’s continued success in our opinion.
We see what the Silicon Valley is producing and is being over hyped these days
It might be neat and fun to have and try all of these cool money pit toys we call time absorbers but is there a true need for these items or is it more buzz wanting for these items.
To look at the actual necessity of these image products and services and lay out the actual need over the want might uncover some reality.
Touch Screen this and touch screen and expand for that
Ok more specific touch screen smart phones, we have been there done that years ago, now yet another smart phone is soon to arrive.
Personally if you eat and touch the screen time will show you a not so pretty picture.
How many people are really on the go, needing to text, share, update, buy, sale and ship all from their portable device during an average 8 hour work day and to continue doing these things on a 5 day a week basis?
Search engine phone
Big news hardly, this new phone is only news because of the popular search engine company that is releasing it, “yet another smart phone” is coming out of a valley, again no independent network, rather a share any network device.
They are successful, I like them, but I would concentrate on the other search company to protect where your money is made today, advertising through search.
Search competition
The other major search engine has intelligence and at this other search engine if you are looking for learning over popularity that is, you are going to find what you seek.
Fruit salad anyone
Ok then there is the piece of fruit company that has a phone, a phone that only works on a single network (soon to become available on other networks) a network that might not even be the finest network but it sells anyways, ok fine but then there is the proprietary issues in an open source economy.
There products designed with fruit, some are good and sale well, no matter what (Cult, hype or image?)
Now that the net pad faded, that is ok however the notebook is in the no fear zone with Logic over these single function touch pad devices that have names that should read JooJoo = JunkJunk and CrunchPad = TechCrash (true dispute or shock marketing?) here, you decide.
Lets not forget the soon (second attempt) to follow by the fruit company with their version of this coffee table device that offers one easy thing, no operating system to boot onto the Internet, ok giant deal about that time delay, if this was 1993, but it is not, so wow.
Price points alone stands in the way of success
$500.00 dollars? It needed to be $100.00 dollars based on ability.
If these touch and go devices wanted to take on something, they needed to accomplish something besides browsing the Internet maybe the ebook function that device made great sense, have one saving trees now, and it just made sense filled a void and away we go.
My Logic point is the ebook can incorporate the web browsing because that works together showing there was not a need for a stand alone web pad. (Web machine anyone)
Can we personally profit from micro-blogs and social profiles?
Not on your life.
Do you want to share personal information with others?
Why not start by earning real friends not click-a-friends.
Reality of networking hype

Did you survive that article try this one
Can a social network and micro blog make the average person money?
Logic has more to say today
We then produced a very serious article prior to the suspected attempt by a couple of micro-blog and social network sites lately to up their US ratings by creating causes and reasons to revisit our social and micro accounts setting up yet more actions required. (Next time in life someone offers you over one billion dollars, take it my friend)
We suspect furthermore that while there are plenty of people shooting those 140 character messages or adding images or progress, location updates, tracking others spending habits or precise geo location seeking, there are so few who are actually reading these updates it makes for no common reasoning.
Here is why personal updates go unread, we speculate in our opinion
People are basically living life one day at a time. The number one thing they do is travel to and from work each day, why the Silicon Valley needs to travel at all yet alone to work is a mystery in 2010 to logic. Anyways so these people’s lives are made up of micro and geo connecting, so they are well, boring overall. People update their status to express more excitement about their lives, yet these updates go unnoticed.
Social Network and Micro-Blog ventilator
Next Logic shares the true issue about updated profiles and micro-blogs (IM reinvented or whatever) is that these are places where people of all walks of life can, mostly for or because of the word free and with if preferred, annuity, cry out, fantasize, role play and basically be the equivalent to coloring your natural brown hair orange and blue like a high school boy or girl, this is venting 101 via the Internet.
Read Social Networking and Micro Blogging this is for you
Then is an article titled Apps that do not make you money
Logic loves you baby
Wait there is more, if you are in your twenties and playing video games still on your computer, we feel this is the equivalent too how young persons used to chew on ice cubes to deal with their stress in relationships, being young and broke, finding or holding a job, and other issues like sex, success and power.
Logic means our youth no offense
We love young people, they make our world go around, and in fact their excitement generally intrigues us slightly older kids. That said and like as with life, there comes a time when, oh you know one day you return home from kinder guardian and your favorite blanket or stuffed animal is missing, you outgrew it, and who can argue, mother knows best.
Are you really staying busy just to be busy?
Here is a great question in the use of technology.
This is directed at organizations that run those VC or Angel Investor meetings and presentations in the Silicon Valley and elsewhere around the world where people actually travel to meet up and present their newest startup ideas.
One recent News Blogger in the Silicon Valley made a comment on his blog that no one should shake hands anymore.
Logic could not agree more
After all he the blog writer is a self proclaimed lawyer (not verified lawyer like Logic’s brother is one) and is yet lacking some details we think he forgot about human interaction that also exist.
Blogger confuses Logic (not difficult actually)
Logic is confused as to why this same man who feels the way he does about hand shaking still sees the need to have these meet up and new startup presentations held physically all around the germ riddled world, including the Silicon Valley.
(Hummm)
We all have tech, yet few rarely utilize tech to its fullest
This non-utilization of tech to Logic just goes to show that even though the technology for live teleconference and instant updating exists for both a private one on one meeting as well as a multipoint group on group meeting environments simultaneously from all around the world is here humans, companies and salespersons even startup presenters fail to apply it.
Mystery why does this easy to implement and utilize technology still not get used correctly replacing the need for actual in person meetings and the excuse to fly to here or there?
Most computer users do not really utilize their own computers
Logic has been into and quickly out of the Silicon Valley since 1993 in physical person.
We stopped all meetings in person in 1999 a new millennium commitment because travel and meeting in person for business is a very 1990’s thing.
The actual truth is, most humans just do not meet reality with ease.
What is new is hot, like video conferencing and soon like the forgotten social networks and IM services when it comes to actually relying on technology the ball gets dropped.
Here are some recent cases in point
Where does really true and important news first appear?
As we can now share with our readers, when the golfer Tiger Woods, music group Weezer as well as a company in the Silicon Valley this morning, each when confronted with truly important news, rushed to their websites to update clients, listeners or fans of their current status, instead of just updating their profiles or micro-blogs.
So which famous person, group or company Internet locations were updated first? Or was only their websites updated and others posted stories about what they learned though only secondarily learning of the breaking news?
What is ahead for the Silicon Valley?
The single largest issue confronting the Silicon Valley is the lack of innovation.
Most all blogs, profile, image, social and search exists for advertising income.
What will become of these lacking PASSION sites in the near future?
Logic can share our article titled, Tech Bubble Prediction 2010
Which California Valley is the Best Valley in California?
The Coachella Valley of course.
Common sense and focus will always prevail.
Logic thoughts
In closing Logic needs to share the truth about what makes our valley a greater location to live besides our quality of life and reduced stress.
The real advantage the Coachella Valley has over the Silicon Valley in the case of technology utilizers, is the ability to sit back from the outside and take a look into the future, all of the while remaining with our noses very close to the ground and in touch with reality. This being focused makes for greater decision making and the most accurate low-level code producing possible, even though it appears boring to be an Advanced Technology Engineering company, it is a stable and profitable way of making a sustainable living.
