13 Years to fulfill a passion, pays off

Domain Name LogicLand.com makes one of our dreams come true
Today we are Viper Logic and in May we turn 16 years young but we started out as P.E. Logic in 1993 a SCSI (small computer system interface) controller card manufacturer and supporting software and firmware engineering and development company.


Domain Name Investors
LogicLand.com is our favorite domain name out of the 3000 domain names we have been acquiring since 1995.

Today we have a site where we post our holdings as assets of Viper Logic under the Viper Names site organized by category.

Who is Viper Logic?
Viper Logic is a software engineering and development company based in Palm Springs, California and we release new web based products. Our list of products and projects are listed at Viper Solutions.


Our methodology is based on Advanced Technology Engineering.


What Does Viper Logic Do?
Our number one best product is a service providing the most advanced email marketing service through user interface features, as well as an Education and Training section devoted to helping all who wish to learn how to begin or advance their email marketing efforts at Viper Mailer.


Winning our domain name the story
Here is a play by play of the 13 year pursuit of our LogicLand.com domain name.


Our domain name offer
Logic in 1995 began to pursue Logic Land but the name was already owned by a group in South America, so we called them used a Spanish speaking extirpator, one of Viper Logic’s personal, a team member that spoke fluent English and Spanish and asked, if we could buy LogicLand.com since the group was not utilizing the name thinking they may be willing to sell it to us, we offered somewhere between $5,000.00 and $7,500.00 US Dollars.


The group’s counteroffer
The group responded with a counter offer of $35,000.00 US Dollars or we could lease it but never own the domain name, we would only buy the name and were not interested in leasing it, being a newer company back in 1995, the $35,000.00 US Dollar price tag was more then we could afford, so we had to pass on it.


We would not give up our pursuit
Logic decided as a company our only choice was to mark the name in our calendar to remind us to check in once a year when the name came up for renewal and then monitor the activity on the groups account as well as to watch and see if the site were ever developed into a working site.


How we kept track of LogicLand.com during our 13 year pursuit
Each year around the end of January through early February Logic would check the domain name lookup to see if the name were renewed.

Some years they would pay to renew it for 2 years and one time they renewed LogicLand.com for 3 years, if my memory serves me as well today as in the past but never the less Logic always received that Outlook Calendar reminder to look up the name.


Domain name not paid for, it is up for grabs
February 2009 changed the pursuit into a concurred venture when the name never got paid for (renewed) allowing bidders who are members of the 3 top dropped domain name clubs to enter their bids.

The minimum bid of around $70.00 US Dollars puts dropped name buyers on the bidders list and when the name was obtained by one of these three top name obtainers, Name Jet a division of eNom had won the name, there were a total of 14 bidders on the Name Jet list of bidders for this name, us being one at the close on Sunday March 15th.


Nearing the day Catnip could bid on LogicLand.com
Logic was ready to buy LogicLand.com, three days later that was March 18th 2009 when the bidding at Name Jet began at around lunch time so, as the deadline neared Logic and best friend Catnip placed our maximum bid to find out the next highest bid was only $310.00 US Dollars.


Domain name bidders list grew large
We began to think ok other bidders all 13 have 5 minutes to bid against us and place a bid higher then our maximum bid but no one ever came forward and the bidding closed, 1 minute later the LogicLand.com domain name was ours a name we were more then willing to pay $5,000.00 US Dollars for over 13 years ago and would have gladly paid that amount today to have this name finally home, at all things Viper at Viper Logic.


Patients not passive and we all shall prevail
It truly pays to be patient and to not get to eager about having to have something because then others are going to add a value to it and you are ultimately going to pay for you’re over enthusiasm.


Going through a tough economy played a role in our winning this domain name.
