Email Marketing Tip Single and Double Opt-In

Email List Quality over Quantity Building
This is more of a things to do and not to do when collecting email addresses for your email campaign and the selections we all make when beginning to collect our contacts can set the stage for adding the most value in two areas the value the contact list will ultimately have on the sale price of your business and the roll the contact list can play on the company’s overall value to the buyer and the quality of the contacts the business accumulates as far as converting a lead into a sale through call to action from a true Opt-In contact.
What is regular Opt-In 3 part definition
There are three ways to gather Opt-In contact lists effectively, legally and the recipients are more willing to accept your messages when the contacts are gathered though the recipient having a clear understanding of your mission when asking for their protected email and contact information.
1 Online 24/7 is easy and legal when your sign up form has clearly written and explaining what your site will be collecting the information for and in the case we are applying these collected leads to begin an email marketing campaign and through your site the entire process can be totally automated.
What you do is build a form requesting the minimum amount of information, the first and last name and email address or more information if you feel one day you might need it at some future date.
Be cautious as to how much additional information you request because visitors to your site may not feel that comfortable relinquishing to much information. Next be sure that you have a check box (the visitor must check a box not check it to Opt-Out) on your form with an explanation of why and what you are collecting the contact information for.
Example:
My name is Logic I like Howard Hughes and today I like the great Howard Hughes created (HHMI) Howard Hughes Medical Institute so I like any information on the subject when I search the Internet I from time to time come across a site where I can sign up to receive new HHMI information usually on a periodical bases there is a check here to receive Howard Hughes Medical Institute information and fill out the form with first and last name then provide email address and so I do.
This is legal because the form clearly states what I am signing up for requires me to fill out a form and check a box. The form even hints to how often (periodically) I will receive HHMI (on topic) information.
Automated Opt-In email list collection and inclusion works when you use Viper Mailer as your email marketing service because along with opening an account with them you are provided a few lines of software code to either install to your sites form box or you provide these lines of code to your webmaster then once this code is installed into your sites backend code.
Every time a visitor to your site signs up using the form the information is sent directly into your managed contact section of your Viper Mailer account and this feature provides your company with the freshest contact list so no mater when you send out your message these fresh leads is already included for you.
2 Offline Daily you should forever made the task at first asking persons we all come into contact with for their interest in what we are offering. If the person you are in a conversation with expresses an interest in what you or your company does then ask them if it is ok to periodically send them additional information as it becomes available (periodically) then ask for their card, if they have not already handed it to you and add an “X” to the front or back indicating that they have and interest and are allowing you to add them to your email marketing campaign system.
3 Events and Functions are one of the greatest places to gather contacts because an event or function generally is a focused gathering of people who each share the same common interest in what you are offering from your display booth or even if you are attending these events and functions you can mingle having discussions with others to gain some trust and follow the same approach as the Offline Daily above where you ask for permission to send an electronic message on topic periodically.
It is not ok to just assume because these persons are at an event or function gathering that it becomes ok to add them to your list of message contacts because it is not. The results of utilizing no effort will show when you first send out your initial message to them.
What is not Opt-In
The keyword in this article is trickery when you deceive others of what they will receive from you just to build your list of email contacts be it online or in person and this is so common we write about this on this blog a lot because it is the largest attempted effortless tactic that people try to apply to instantly build a list of contacts in the shortest period of time.
We remind you as our reader and future customer of Viper Mailer email marketing authority on the subject of electronic communications tips and techniques that if you trick a visitor to your site by offering free prizes or free anything (discounts on future offering works just fine though) then they are not signing up to actually learn from, be connected to or buy from you which ultimately is nothing but building a list of SPAM contacts.
The only way to gain the highest (ROI) Return on Investment through applying email marketing through a service like Viper Mailer is to gain trust with your contact information requests be it any of the three above approaches.
Email list Collecting Warning
Next and lastly never share your list of email contacts or sell your list of email contacts, no matter how good the offer is once your list of contacts is compromised it is worth no money to you and it has lost the value of gaining contacts in the selling price of your company when you eventually apply your exit strategy to sell your business.
What is Single and Double Opt-In list building
For a Single Opt-In and the top notch Double Opt-In these processes assure you that your list is going to be getting results though the list will become much smaller in the beginning for the Double Opt-In option.
Single Opt-In contact list defined
The single opt-in is really the easiest and most effective way to retain most of the contacts for your campaigns and this method only applies to those new contacts that filled out your online form because what happens in the single opt-in is the person filling out the form and submitting it to your email marketing account then the recipient receives an email confirmation welcome to my list type of message reminding them that they have signed up to your informative offerings and at this point they are also provided the option to Opt-Out before they ever receive there first message from your company or organization.
Some good reasons for using the Single Opt-In option is you are assured of the following common misuses and errors of online forms.
Incorrect email address (misspelled or missing components)
Form fill out abuse (persons fill out the form of others email information)
Spam triggers (a person adds a name of a known spam detector reporting system destroying your list)
Deliberate form stuffing (is when a person just enters anything so they do not receive spam)
In a way the Single Opt-In offers your recipients the option to Opt-Out be it they are not the one that filled out the form or they have changed there mind about receiving offers and finally they are once again reminded that they are going to be receiving future messages from you and your organization.
Double Opt-In contact list defined
Double Opt-In can be applied by Viper Mailer because the process is very complex requiring the distribution and options when sending a verification email then gathering of the data and only adding confirmed Double Opt-In recipients to your email list management portion of your email marketing account through our Viper Mailer system.
How Double Opt-In list verification works is to have a sing up form online even through an ecommerce store that offers the ability for the visitor or customer to receive on topic information related to your company and or site and to have a box the customer checks even for an online store where these people are your new customer.
Next the Viper Mailer system sends an email to the recipient the same way it does for the Single Opt-In except this message they receive not only has the Opt-Out feature it also has a hyperlink in the message to our contact list management system within your account where they verify by clicking this to accept the inclusion to email mailing list and they are now a member of your list Double Opt-In verified.
The results may vary
This type of double verification system is work put on the recipient and this is in many cases too much to ask so we always like the Opt-In, the Single Opt-In well before the Double Opt-In option to keep your list full of potential subscribers because unless these double opt-in’s activate their accounts through their Inbox email from you they are never going to receive a message from you or your organization.
