We no sooner write this story paying a reference to Robert Mondavi and Baron Rothschild Story about Napa Valley and their creation of one of the finest Cabernet wines we have ever tasted on Thursday while writing about the Napa County cityof American Canyon. We really enjoyed the earlier years of Opus when they made the wines in smaller quanitities and another favorite we collect and enjoy drinking are the Mondavi Winery Stags Leap Cabernet and the Mondavi Reserve’s.

Then came the News of the California Wine Countries loss
This come to us via MSNBC that the founder of the Oakville Winery and former holder of Modavi Wineries as well as, the man that put California Wines on the map around the world had died at 94 years old. We have this to share.

What a life Robert Mondavi lived
Partner Catnip and Logic have been collecting and drinking these wines since the 1990’s and we have the Baron and Robert cross grown grape wine Opus One from the first bottles in 1979 to present. They taste great they are affordable at around 200.00 current vintage and the originals sale for a lot more.

However we have already discussed the California Gold television series but wanted to mention it once again for our fellow resident Californians. Today we want to discuss something about California that you, and maybe even residents in the coastal or big cities might not even be aware of and California is a very big player in it.
Do not panic here readers Logic is not going to share with you how to grow produce or wine grapes, but rather we want to expose a little known magazine that is about a whole lot more then growing tomatoes.

California Factoid
Agriculture and in fact California’s Central Valley is the biggest producer in the state as our agriculture heartland for California. The Central Valley is in (for the most part) Northern California inland from the coast and runs length wise from Kern County to nearly the State of Oregon boarder our neighbor to the north. The Central Valley is nearly 400 miles in length.
This Central Valley has 2 names because it is so large and area. There is at the south end the San Joaquin Valley and to the north the Sacramento Valley. These regions are one of if not the most diverse and productive agricultural regions in the world.

The State of California has an organization for farming and it is the California Farm Bureau Federation and you can visit their web site here California Farm Bureau Federation
The cfbf has this magazine that Logic actually subscribes to it.
What the magazine offers is a lot of cooking tips, restaurant reviews, yes growing tips, cute farm animals (a lot of little baby animals) and some vineyard growing and wine tasting exposures.
There are always feature stories like the history of farm trackers as they are highly sought after at auctions, and sometimes a story about the history of California farming.

California Food and Tasting Tips
If you are hungry when your copy of the California Country Magazine arrives and you begin looking through the colorful pages of the magazine, caution Logic should warn you that you are going to be hungry for the food and even more hungry to visit California soon.

The magazine only discusses crops and live stock produced California and only reviews wines, restaurants, and food suppliers in California.

There is a bigger then life competitor that if you are advertising to say 12 to 29 year old they all utilize the MP3 technology where they upload to their devices only what they are going to hear and there would be no advertising we can rest assured.

Newspapers and Magazines
Boy here comes what will end up showing us what the world is coming to. What this industry segmant is facing we would not want to be invloved in for sure. So therefore they the Print Indusrty is following the same moves as the television and radio industries.

You see subscription rates each year are lower then the year before (not sure for how may years now) and this includes Logic’s own subscriptions that have been replaced with online content from lots of places including the very newspapers and magazines Logic is discontinuing as well.

The print world is going online currently in the most aggressive efforts the Internet has experienced of lately.

Logic is not bagging on the Television Radio, Newspapers, and Magazines at all. we are just reporting the odds of running a successful marketing campaign using any of these services and reporting the aggressive efforts all of these advertising mediums are applying to the online world after a large early day resistances to do so.

MTV drives visitors to Southern California
California has TV shows and particularly in the Southern California, like a few from MTV the famous music video television network targeting the tween to early twenty somethings as their primary audience. The characters sharing their growing up California experiences and those things that go on with young people in their real lives MTV The Hill filmed on location in Beverly Hills, California.
The reason we are mentioning these is these MTV shows are broadcast globally showing the finest scenery, views, homes, cars, people, etc.

This is a relatively small city but it is located in one of our most popular agricultural areas because of the famous wine grapes grown, bottled, and tasted in the county that are known and drank all over the world.
The most well known winery Logic can think about and comes to mind because this winery creates a wine in a joint venture with the French famous Rothschild where the two founders Baron Rothschild and Robert Mondavi blended two grapes together to create Opus One a truly Logic favorite.
