This wealthy beach city ironically is also the home of one of our most expensive vegetable events a Festival a true annual event held the first weekend of each October the Avocado Festival is an exciting 3 day event for the whole family to enjoy California Avocado Festival.

Do not think that this city is a wealthy sleeper because it is not there is a large organic produce company located here and to represent the County of Santa Barbara for polo it is home to the Santa Barbara Polo Club so if you are into sports related to horses visit the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club.

We of course are going to visit the beaches along Carpinteria including the Carpinteria State Beach that is one mile in length and offers camping, exploring the tide pools, swimming and surf fishing but you can read and see this beach in Carpinteria for yourself however there is a great park the Carpinteria Salt Marsh Reserve that runs along the ocean separated by the sandy beaches of Carpinteria offers a look at some of the rare California wetlands and channel habitats studied and observed by the University of California Natural Reserve System.

If you enjoy surfing then by all means adding Rincon Point to your accomplishments is a true must as the point is known to provide some of California’s better surfing.

With the hillsides up overlooking the city where a lot of growing goes on in this city there is the Carpinteria Valley and you should visit to learn about Carpinteria at the Carpinteria Valley Museum of History, this is where you can learn about the valleys past but also view exhibits and examine the 3 major cultures that made the valley their homes here at the Carpinteria Valley Museum.

This city is California’s king ans Queen of romance and that is putting lightly as the entire area over a mer square mile (very small for a city) located atop a gradual bluff of giant full well grown tree lined sidewalks each building be it a restaurants, bars, hotel, spas, shop, gallery or inn each is a cottage warm feeling with a lot of fire places a truly everything wooden and warm and this is all located overlooking the Pacific Ocean on the Monterey Bay. 

The Carmel Mission located in Carmel and built in June 1770 is the San Carlos Borromeo de Carmelo Mission and worthy of a visit and insightful tour of this great facility Carmel Mission.

Things to do in and around Carmel-By-The-Sea, California.
Sticking to our romantic theme for this visit and because the city is located just off of Highway 1 and south of Pebble Beach we recommend you pay to have the privilege to drive inside and along the famous 17 Mile Drive that runs along the coastline and ends up in Pacific Grove but you should explore on your own because this is romance.

We are also going to venture out to the Monterey Bay’s Cannery Row and the where you can eat and shop but to be romantic we are going to spend part of our day at the Monterey Bay Aquarium Monterey Aquarium.
