Logic your writer has waited for years to be in this time, this space to share a vision looking forward in the computer and software industry. We often discuss the predictions of our coming global economy on this blog and in a way today’s story really comes from an article Logic read in Wired magazine about the great Mr. Ozzie because the article is off the map and out of touch with what is coming to us all about the changes in computers and the development of software and especially those that are on the same page as Microsoft.

Magazine says Ray Ozzie does not speak up about developments
Welcome to the world of engineering experts Wired magazine those past 15 to 20 years of talking up everything from the latest domain name ending (TLD’s) extensions and IPods are all to coming to and end like social networks in the likes of Facebook and MySpace. None of this stuff will end but it will settle into its place just like the PPC offered by Google is finding a resting place in time today.

Hint lookout for the cloud computing it is over stated under necessity looking forward.

You might read this right now and say look these companies are reporting quarter over quarter great or growing earnings true however we are writing this in advance like we do with or economic forecasting, of what is coming so, relax and trust in Logic long enough to complete the reading of this article then you can see if we are right or wrong.

The Wired magazine people did not do anything wrong (we love our Wired magazine) in their writings about Microsoft and Ray Ozzie the Chief Software Architect they are just like most people they are not visionaries (they are reporters) able to see the trends changing towards function and moving away from apps and widgets.

In fact it is not going to be a magazine that points out that the economy is going to bring the global software development back to its original focus of building software that make businesses money and not so much gaming, blogs and widget apps types of software that connects me to you, you to me, then to our friends and family though it is here to stay the business model well there is not one. Money was not important during those easy 15 to 20 years that ended in March 2006 (in our opinion) when everyone was after the under 20 range crowd.

Please do not look at Logic as a ranting fool
You would be sadly misunderstanding us, sadly not for us at Viper Logic because we never changed since 1993 our focus from useful necessary software development and we are a part of the new (what we call) Advanced Technology Engineering world and this is what Ray Ozzie (though we do not know Mr. Ozzie) is all about.

Software engineers are not talking heads like a Bill Gates Wired claims he is the former CSA for Microsoft we disagree even though Mr. Gates was so titled or a Steve Jobs of Apple these people perhaps in a past time were programmers at some level today they are of the past Mr. Ozzie is of today’s new set and besides the true CSA or ATE is not one to stop programming regardless of other responsibilities.

We are not picking on these two but rather they are the two higher profile persons reconized today.

These models of talking heads are needed however this model worked up until the end of the easy credit and viral social networking era and even today persons like Mr. Jobs are still pushing their cult style on the global consumer until right about the end of the third quarter of 2008 (results looking forward to show you this is when they began to slide) when the global consumer realized several new realities being they needed to get back to work and finally they needed to begin saving their money again.

Tomorrows great companies will be those like Viper Logic that provide true tools like Viper Mailer email marketing software for business that make their clients money, not cost them money and now is a better time then ever since the global economy is changing and people arereturning to saving and forgoing debt over buying just to be buying everything.

Changing of the Guard
We will begin seeing (in our opinion) a transformation of what was thought of as great companies that actually were time bombs (product pushers) who’s fuses have finally began to spark powder as the explosion nears, CSA and ATE focued companies will be tomorrows great innovators and are going to become the new investment darlings.

All companies need a pitch person
This includes Viper Logic (currently wants one but does not have one) though we thank god for online SEO/SEM (Search Engine Optimization and Marketing) that allows the modern day nerds to convey, communicate and manipulate the rankings of positioning in the leading top three search engines but behind this pitch person there needs to lie the CSA and the team of developers that follow along with the CSA and the specifications an outline with a direction, though never and ending.

How to identify a CSA
Chief Software Architect or in Viper Logic’s thoughts an Advanced Technology Engineering methodology a creator that sets forth on a mission with no glory no notoriety and never any fame.

If you think you are a or know your company has a CSA or an Advanced Technology Engineering (ATE) member they would not have an online social network or profile with anything from the kiddy bob YouTube, Facebook or Linked In’s of the world, not even a forum membership you see while CSA’s read and view plenty they do not participate in these groups of distractions they will have a membership in MSDN, they will display complete calm in all situations to return after all self analyzing is completed.

The CSA or ATE will never do public appearances unless forced (sorry Wired to inform you), not use a cell phone see they rarely talk (by choice) with family or friends (they have few friends by choice) though they are out to have a hobby that is technical but enjoyable it will have little to no involvement with the use of a computer or human interaction.

You see there are still persons that are the brains behind the computer (the backend) because without them your apps and widgets are not going to run these people in most readers minds would view these CSA’s or ATE’s as boring and removed from reality actually and we will quote Bill Gates and Wired Magazines statement that they are the top five programmers in the universe. We do not say it as Mr. Gates does that is what he has to say after all Mr. Ozzie works for him and Microsoft what we say is that these programming experts are in the top less then 1% of the programmers in the world and most major corporations know this so these individuals are the most sought after in the universe.

The CSA or ATE is a stand alone who can build any size server farm, computer, firewall, storage on the planet to any scale you can request and handle any and all software needed or not found. Not found means that if you come to this person with an issue and there is not a solution in place they will complete a solution for you. 

The CSA or ATE is not a stand alone person who does not work with others actually if persons that wish to work with these persons like they are welcome to participate but be forewarned, they are no nonsense persons.

Do not look to the CSA/ATE for creating a solution that is not going to happen they might take an existing scenario like Yahoo and Live then create a Google (yes google has one known CSA or ATE) and in these larger companies you will read about them (never their wish) and their great accomplishments however the remaining members are working within the smaller companies (never known or talked about) like Viper Logic has one that you will never hear about because they are not usually driven by money though they make plenty, they do not do the large company meeting after meeting stuff and they will never play corporate politics so they steer clear of those types of scenarios.

Logic’s final comment on the CSA/ATE members of our society
How after reading to the end of this blog post does Logic know so much about these special persons of the computer industry It is simple Logic works with one you see Logic is the talking piece for a ATE at Viper logic and Logic is not one sorry folks, Logic understands that for example when Logic needs anything for Viper Logic or the rest of the team Logic gets it, even the simple things like Internet sites and this Blog.

Reality and perception
Also do not be so quick to discredit Microsoft as is so often the case in the press when compared with the likes of Google. See we ask that you put the whole thing in perspective. Microsoft is a producer of necessity and Google is a search slash advertising firm today that has strayed away from, we believe their core efforts search into everything on the planet including saving the planet and hey they are successful and we are proud of them and their efforts but truthfully, writers and investors should really look through the hype and into the core engine of each company one we can live without the other we would not be able to easily use our computers.

We are happy with both Microsoft and Google they both have offerings that have greatly helped Viper Logic prevail.

Unemployment experts predictions incorrect

Logic is a hobbyist of economists
Look no one wants more then Logic to see the return to the great economy of the roaring times of pre 2006 but reality is sharing a different opinion and Logic really believes that the economy will not return to the times of the easy credit and consumers buying everything just to buy it and we have a really good understanding of why it will not, along with these thoughts we also will share why the unemployment figures of the experts that were surveyed in mid November about unemployment being 7.5% at its peek are very incorrect.

Logic understands these are paid economists they do not want to stand out even be fired for their true predictions so the result of these types is conservatism, and truth be told this is really very irresponsible reporting on their behaves though who can blame them they need their jobs also, right. 

How we predict unemployment figures
Regardless of the current reported unemployment figure of 6.5% the way we look at the total unemployment is to add all of the persons living in America that can work these figures are not including those that give up after benefits are exhausted then minus those to young to work under 18 and minus those that are over the retirement age and our estimates are 15% +/- 5% above the current unemployment rate making the current unemployment rate 31.5%.

Compelling reasons for high unemployment
If Logic is not correct then why are states, counties and cities asking the Federal Government for infrastructure funds early when unemployment is currently at 6.5% it is really easy to see where Logic predicts the 25% unemployment and the 15% not counted. That is 40% unemployment folks but before you click off of this article or dismiss Logic as out of touch the next few paragraphs might allow you to see what we see.

No manufacturing demand overseas
Next since we buy in America so much of all the products produced from China, yet there is currently rising numbers of factory closures and people in these third world nations have been and will continue to see rioting over these changing overseas times because so many persons living in China had a taste of money only to have it taken away and this shares with us that America is not only not buying today but this clearly shows that American Retailers are not and have not ordered in the quantities if at all from China and other supplying nations as the holiday season grows nearer meaning that America will not have a gift related holiday season generally the largest annual retail sells period.

Americans in Retail Space Prediction
With the amount of American’s working in the retail be it from the small flipper business of buying from places like China mark it up then sell it for a profit, then the number of big chain stores added across America we predict that retail, car, real estate, banking computer hardware and software and food services will be the biggest hit to commercial retail space resulting in the 2010 range that 50% of all retail space across America will be empty boxes and shells.

Here is the recovery of America 20 to 30 year cycle looking forward
We are predicting that Americans will return to savings allowing the current teenagers through 50 year old range to save like no other time then since following the Great Depression and this while painful we believe that American’s have learned a valuable lesson and they realize for all of those easy credit days and mass scale consumption days did nothing for them they are realizing that they spent there children, children money and a price must now be paid. When following the great depression American’s had also learned this hard lesson of easy money for doing nothing and living large that all ended one day following 1929 - 1933 and began a very saving conscious period as well as the stock market did not recover until around 1952 - 1954 and if you review the estimated time lines that is your 20 to 30 year cycle that we are headed into now.

This means those young persons living today that have not yet had children will remember not having the easy times and as their children grow up they will want the things for them they did not have returning in part to the America of the past 20 to 30 year cycle of buying their children anything and everything just like the period that just ended.

Americans are saving not spending
First the personal debt must retract then as American’s have extra money they are more out to begin a massive savings program that they will try to share with their future children with little to no success resulting in a repeated cycle though cycles as with history never repeat the exact same way twice.

Logic has talked and written all about mass layoffs and retail sales figures since 2005 and published in July 2008 then starting in late October and early November the US Government is talking about no ability to save what is coming the mass amounts of retail real estate, food and auto industry production and sells jobs that have began being eliminated not only in the US but all over the world.
