Logic believes that this year 2008 will turn out to be the lowest Christmas period spending in decades and there are a few reasons to why 2009 and 2010 are going to make 2008 look like it was good times.

States are in debt
With over 37 states currently reporting and running with a shortage of their budgets, taxes and fees in each city, county and state are going to gradually be increased looking a little more like Europe with their user abuser taxes which is if you buy things you are taxed hard and if you do not you are rewarded for savings rates with no taxes on interest on savings.

There will be no choice for the government but to raise taxes with less able to be taxed because of the rise in unemployment.

Residential Housing will need to come down not 17 to 20% but 40% between now and the end of 2009 setting the stage to be a true buyers market.

Commercial Real Estate builders need a and requested a US Bailout but commercial real estate will be 50% empty across America sometime in 2010 regardless.

Watch the Entertainment, Sports and Gambling Industries and the consumers lack of interest compared to the past 15 years not like during other economic downturns.

Watch Major Hotel Operators as they are debt ridden and tourism will not be coming leading to a required US Bailout request.

Watch the US Auto Industry it will never return to the great past.

The Alcohol Industry the jury is still out but clearly the restaurant serving is way off not sure about drinking at home.

Logic here to follow though with the Federal Governments helpful attempts to fix what they allowed through non regulation, oversight or any other mechanism during the drunken days of Washington D.C. and New York’s Wall Street.

The consumer a lesson learned
The consumer is not buying (just buying to be buying stuff) in America today, they are trying to keep their heads above water and when they do get above water, and they will, they will have learned their lesson (it got them no where) and the majority of American’s will become savers for the coming 20 to 30 years a great thing for sure but the price of going from spender to saver must first be paid for the governments lack of attention to reality in our opinion.

Consumer makes up 2/3rds of GDP
GDP (Gross Domestic Product) and if the consumer cannot or will not buy products and services then no matter what the interest rate is unemployment as written below is going to happen and we believe that the consumer cannot buy anything as they are cash poor today.

Logic is in this boat as well, unwilling to spend unless dire need is the topic of the purchase. 

Unemployment headed past 1929-1933 levels
The results of government not doing any oversight during what looks to be shaping up to be the last 15 years following the FDIC takeovers of the insolvent banks through the early 90’s throughout America leaves the small businesses the 2/3rds of employers and the other 1/3rd being the 2000+ employer companies no choice but to begin to cut our exposure, creating the largest layoff volumes since 1929-1933.

Our Unemployment Predictions

This is where the lack of confidence comes in
Consumers and business owners or operators like Logic who is running a small business today (a profitable business) during the beginning of these times to watch any spending in fear that the now Logic predicted downturn to last through 2014 in our opinion even though the experts are now finally saying 2010 we see it deeper until the actual signs of a recovery return to the average person like Logic on the streets of America.

Never borrow money
We do not care if the US Government came into our office building at the Viper Logic Operations Center today and said we could borrow money at 0% interest rates we would not take it. We believe that a persons ability of paying back loans unless used for a well planned venture (sure bet) will become completely impossible if we are wrong then try to go and sell your car or truck right now you will find out if you owe anything you are in the negative, just like the home owners of the 2000’s time period are finding out.

Cash Money Rules
Money is king now or like Logic’s dad teaches me “Cash is King” with reduced credit card limits, no bank borrowing or no home to use like a piggy bank so holding on to your money unless you are going to die, do not spend your money the ability to earn it back will if not already become impossible.
